Mobile detailing across Wilmslow, Alderley Edge and the SK9 postcode. A lot of the cars here are new, leased, or about to be handed back, and a lot of them spend a week at a time in an airport car park. All three change what the right service actually is.
Wilmslow has a different problem to the villages west of here. The cars are newer, the journeys are shorter, and the mileage is low. That sounds like an easy life for paintwork, and mostly it is, but low mileage brings its own issues. A car that only does short trips never gets hot enough to dry properly, so water sits in the shuts. And a car that is washed by a hand car wash on Alderley Road twice a month picks up swirl marks faster than one doing motorway miles.
Then there is the airport. Manchester is ten minutes down the A538, and a large share of the cars we see here spend regular weeks in long stay. A week outside means industrial fallout, tree sap and bird lime, all of which are acidic and all of which etch into clear coat if they are left to bake. It is the most common damage we find on otherwise immaculate cars in SK9.
Because the cars are new, the highest-value thing we do here is not correction. It is getting protection onto paint before it needs correcting.
Decontamination, a light polish only where it is genuinely needed, then a 2 or 5 year ceramic coating with glass coating included. On paint this fresh there is nothing to correct, which makes it the cheapest coating you will ever buy for that car.
Coming to the end of a lease or PCP. Inspection charges for cosmetic damage are avoidable far more often than people assume, and a proper detail beforehand routinely pays for itself.
If the car has been through a hand wash a few times, the swirls are already there. Correction removes them permanently, and coating over fresh correction is cheaper than doing the two jobs separately.
No correction needed, so you are paying for the coating and nothing else. This is the single best value moment in a car's life and it does not come back.
If you are handing it back in eighteen months, a five year coating is money you will not get the benefit of. A Signature Detail on a regular interval plus a pre-handback detail makes more sense.
Fix what is there once, protect it properly, then maintain. Over four years this costs less than repeated correction and looks better throughout.
Tell us the car, the postcode and whether you own it or lease it. That last one changes what we would recommend.
